Framed Poinsettias

Image
Hello Everyone my post today is a Birthday Card I did for a dear friend of many many years. Since it is a December birthday I decided to go with Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia die and ECD Fitted Frames 1  Lacy Rectangles  die.  For those of you that follow Elizabeth Craft Designs or the Susan's Garden Club on Facebook the card will look familiar to you as Susan posted a similar one last week, what a coincidence.  I do apologize for the quality of the pictures as it is very hard to photograph Shimmer Sheetz and glitter, Here we go  Using Red Metallic Shimmer Sheetz cut 1 set of Fitted Frames 1- Lacy Rectangles.   Using 100 lb Soft Finish Cardstock with Double Sided Clear Adhesive  on both sides cut 1 set of Fitted Frames 1 - Lacy Rectangles. Remove protective paper from front of white fitted frames and add Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and burnish in using your fingers.   Take an A2 (4-1/4 X 5-1/2) card base and alternating between t...

Poinsettia Ornament

Image
Hello Everyone, Just a quick post today.  This is another open front ornament and I used Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia for the feature inside today.  Just like my "Snowman" ornament that posted last week on Elizabeth Craft Designs blog I coated the inside of the ornament with Kids Choice Glue then sprinkled diamond dust coating the inside and dumping out the extra diamond dust.  Place a small mound of Yes glue in the bottom center of ornament.   wrap  2" piece of wooden skewer with green floral tape (if you do not have the tape you could paint it green) insert into the center of the mound of glue.  Let dry completely.  Cut a poinsettia from cardstock shade and shape all leaves and then build the flower. (see Susan's video here )  Cut pine boughs shade and shape with your fingers.   attach leaves and pine boughs to back of flower using a clear drying glue.  Let dry   Using clear drying glue randomly add glue to the flow...

Frosty the Snowman Ornament

Image
Designed for ECD Susan Tierney-Cockburn Design Team. Hello everyone this is my December post for Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog   This idea came to me when I came across these clear open face balls which brought back a childhood memory of our Dad bringing home a box of 6 ornaments that were half balls with a scene in each one. Those became my favorite ornaments and today I have the only 2 remaining ornaments from that set. I knew Susan’s CountryScapes Build a Snowman die set would be perfect for this project. For the complete tutorial on how to make this ornament please visit Elizabeth Craft Designs blog here What a fun project  this was and I hope that you will try some of the ornaments.  I am looking forward to making more as there are many more Susan's Country1Scapes dies that can be used.

The base of this card is a white A2 (4-1/4" X 5-1/2") all edges inked with Distress Ink Antique Linen.   Using the Fitted Frames 4 - Curvy die cut 1 set in white cardstock and 1 set in green cardstock.  Take frame 1,3 and 5 of the white and 2 & 4 of the green - ink all edges (you will be able to make another card with the remaining frames just reversing your the color layout of your frames)   Attach the frames to the card front using double sided clear adhesive.    Next die cut 3 pansies using Susan's garden Notes - Pansie die (yellow and purple cardstock used here).  Mark the centers of the yellow petals with a purple marker.  Shape petals and assemble using Susan's video seen here .  Attach the pansies to the center of the frames. ...

Wintery Reflection

Image
Hi there everyone today I am posting a card that I taught at our Close To My Heart Consultant Team Meeting this month.  This card was done using the "Reflection" technique. The card is an A2 size card (4-1/4 X 5-1/2) and is used as a top fold.  Emboss the front of your card with embossing folder of your choice (holly leaves and berries or snowflakes are great choices. Cut an oval at 3" (page 42) and the decorative layer oval at 3-3/4" (page 52).  (The ones used on this card were cut on the Cricut using the CTMH cartridge Art Philosophy). Using light blue ink (CTMH - Glacier used here) sponge over the oval lightly. Using either a pigment ink or Stazon  ink stamp your image on oval and then ink stamp again and stamp on a piece of transparency.  Flip the transparency over so it is upside down (the "reflection") and position on your oval and gently rub over the transparency transferring the image to the oval.  (CTMH stamp set used Captured Moments). Se...

Owls in Silhouette

Image
Hello everyone today I am posting a card that I designed for Susan Tierney-Cockburn's Design Team at Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This is something a little different than what I normally do (I am really a flower person) but Susan has all these great dies I wanted to try out.  The background for this card has the "Northern Lights" technique.  You usually use this technique with silhouette stamps but I chose to use Susan's Garden CountryScape dies and build my silhouette from die cuts.  You can find the tutorial for making this card on Elizabeth Craft Designs blog found here.  Once here scroll down and you will find my tutorial. Please hop on over to Elizabeth craft Designs  and see all the wonderful products that they offer. Until next time - Happy Scrapping! Christine
