Framed Coreopsis

Welcome my crafty friends,

Today I have another card for you featuring Spellbinders Susan's Autumn Flora Coreopsis along with foliage ( foliage with a twist it is similar to a weed that grows here in Maine). My card mats are from Spellbinders APG series Petite Picot Squares.

Here is how I created my 6" x 6" card.

Step 1 I created the beaded part using Styrofoam beads separated into 4 containers. Added a few drops of Distress Oxide Reinker in each (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Aged Mahogany and Peeled Paint) mix each one to distribute color. Next I mixed beads together in another cup. I will tell you maybe alcohol reinker may way work better as the Distress Oxide do not dry well and tend to muddy the colors.

Step 2 Using 4" piece of flower wire wrapped with floral tape I rolled top 1" - 1-1/4" of wire in Kids Choice Glue then dipped into colored beads and manipulate with your fingers to get shape. Heat gun was used very carefully to dry a little then more glue was used by brush then more beads were added until I had shape I wanted.

Step 3 Used white cardstock to cut 3 Coreopsis. Copic markers were used to color. Susan has a YouTube video for creating which can be found here.

Step 4 From green cardstock 2 Nandina Branches were cut as well as 2 Rosemary branches. They were shaded and shaped. Susan has a YouTube video for Her Foliage & Ladybug die set which can be found here.

This is the inspiration

Step 5 From white cardstock I cut 1 of largest Spellbinder Petite Pico Squares then using die for next size down I placed a square die inside taped together and cut a frame from white cardstock.

Step 6 On white 6" X 6" card base I used Clear Double Sided Adhesive to attach largest square. Next I used narrow dimensional tape strips added to back of frame adhering over square as diamond shape.

Step 7 Kids Choice Glue was used to add foliage and flowers.

Step 8 Add Ladybug.

I do hope you have enjoyed my post and that it has inspired you to create!
