Birthday Bouquet




Hello Everyone it is hard to believe how fast the month of May is flying by.  Why is it the warmer months always go by much faster than those cold months.

Today my post is another Sunflower card I made for a co-worker.  I used Susan's Garden Notes Sunflower die (one of my many favorites of Susan's ) along with some Shimmer Sheetz and the Asian Vase die.

Here is how this card was made:

  1.  Using 3 different shades of cardstock (yellows, oranges and reds ) cut 3 sunflowers.  Cut green leaves and for the seeds in the center of sunflower use 2 shades of brown cardstock (hard to see in picture but it does add some shading).  Shape everything using Susan's Sunflower video as your guide.  Video found here

  2. Using 100# white Soft Finish Cardstock make your card base which is 5-1/4" X 5-1/2".  Cut cardstock 8-1/2" X 5-1/2" and score at 4-1/4".

  3. Cut Yellow Metallic Shimmer Sheetz 4" X 5-1/4" and emboss with embossing folder of your choice.  Attach to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

  4.  Using White Soft Finish Cardstock again cut Large Lace Rectangle from Fitted Frames 1 die set.  Attach over the Shimmer Sheetz using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

  5. Using Bronze Metallic Shimmer Sheetz cut vase using Asian Vase die.  DO NOT USE METAL ADAPTER PLATE WHEN CUTTING VASE.  You will have to finish cutting out vase with scissors.  The inner areas will be embossed rather than cut out.  Attach to front of card using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

  6. Attach Sunflowers to card using Kid's Choice Glue.

  7. Die cut a flag type piece from white cardstock or cut a rectangle and cut tails in one end. (The size needs to be big enough to fit peel off stickers)  I happen to have a die cut in my stash that worked)  Add your "Happy Birthday" Peel Off Stickers to piece then add to card.

  8. Cut 2 pieces of CardStand / Easel die from cardstock color of your choice adhere the 2 pieces together and emboss with embossing folder of your choice.  See Els video on this here.

Good Morning Everyone!  Sorry it has been so long since I have posted but I have been busy getting ready to go to Creative Keepsake Convention and then going to convention. I had a great time taking classes, shopping, eating and enjoying great friends. My post today is using one of Susan's Garden new dies and one of Karen Burniston's pop up dies.  It was hard to get a good clear picture because of the shine from the glitter. Card base is an A2 size card (4-1/4 X 5-1/2) 1.  Panel is made by using Karen Burniston's accordion rectangle die.  Attach a piece of sticker paper  4-1/2 X 5-3/4 to a pc of white cardstock the same size using clear double sided adhesive. Cut 1 frame from this.  Cut the rectangle and tabs from center of frame and the long tab on the left edge of the frame. Run this frame through Sizzix machine using Hearts Entwined embossing folder (or other embossing folder of your choice)  Peel the paper from the front of the frame ( protective paper covering adhesive

Family Hydrangeas

Hello My Crafty Friends, Today I have another card for you that I created,  my inspiration actually being bouquet of dried hydrangeas that sits on my dresser in an old antique vase.  The hydrangeas are ones that grow across the front of my house they are called Bobo.  These hydrangeas have been on my dresser since I cut them last fall and one day as I looked at them my inspiration hit me. Inspiration: Here is how it was created. Step 1   Card base is 5" X 7 - I used Tonic Studios Craft Perfect Ivory White Card Blanks.  These card blanks are very nice quality also com in white and other sizes. Step 2   Cut colored cardstock 4-3/4" X 6-3/4" using Oval die set ( Susan's Garden Notes Fitted Frame It used here) choose oval one size smaller than what you want for opening - die cut oval in cardstock keeping it close to top.    Cut Ivory cardstock 4-1/2" X 6-1/2"  Using next size up oval die cut oval adhere ivory on top of colored using Clear Double Sided Adhesi

Family Birthday Cards

Welcome my crafty friends! Today I have a couple birthday cards I did for our grandson and my hubby.  Our grandson and hubby share their birthday - grandson was best birthday gift ever. Our grandson turned 18 and he loves to fish he has a boat and fishes when he is not working.  Hubby turned 79 and loves his John Deere tractor.   Cards are both 6" X 6" and I used a combination of dies and Cricut to make my cards. The pop up mechanism was same for both it was an old die set of Karen Burniston when she was with Elizabeth Craft Designs - Bathtub Pop Up.  Another time I would reshape the bathtub into a boat but I had already hand cut the boat then went looking for a die set that had a pop up mechanism to use kind of like putting the cart before the horse.
