Hello

Hi Everyone my post today is a 6" X 6" pop up card using Susan Tierney-Cockburn's new release CountryScapes Backyard 5 - Wash Day die set.  I knew when I saw this die set for the first time that I wanted to do something a little different with it.  Growing up we had a clothesline like this.  We not only hung laundry on it but on occasion we hung blankets to make a tent.  We begged to spend the night in it but of course we never quite stayed the whole night.  Fond memories for sure.  This was one that was a little bit difficult to photograph since it is long so you get some blurring and I am sorry about that.   Here is how I constructed the card.

  1. Using a 12" X 12" sheet of white cardstock cut it in half.  Take (1)  6" X 12" piece cover with clear double sided adhesive and adhere grass pattern paper.  Do the same for the other 6" X 12" piece of cardstock.  Now to form the pop stand with floating floor card base use Karen Burniston's video found here.  I used the Hay There Pop Stand to attach the basket in the center and the Fence Pop Stand to attach the clothesline to.  I cut 2 pop stands spaced so the clothesline could be attached on each end (use clothesline for correct spacing).

  2.  Cut clothes line twice once in brown cardstock and once in white from the white you will only use the rope lines and attach to the brown using a clear drying glue. Cut clothes from color cardstock of your choosing.  Cut 2 baskets using die from CountryScapes Backyard 3 Apple Orchard.  Cut 8 clumps of grass from green cardstock using die from Fence Pop Stand die set.  Cut 4 fences and 1 arbor from Soft Finish 100# cardstock.  Cut 2  tulip borders from green cardstock and flowers from white cardstock.  Cut a small circle with small opening in center from brown cardstock for a wreath.  Cut 2 leafy branches from green cardstock and shape a little using small ball tool and molding mat.  Cut 1 little dog from CountryScapes Critters 5 from white cardstock.  Cut Hello from black cardstock and from color cardstock matching large circle.

Assembly

3. With base complete attach clothesline to pop stands using clear drying glue, hang clothes on clothesline using glue then attach clothes pins.  Attach basket to center pop stand using video as reference leaving top open so a couple pieces of clothing can be added.  Attach clumps of grass at base of each post of clothesline (front and back of each post).  Cut 2 pieces of fence to fit front of floating floor on each side of arbor attach using clear drying glue.  Cut top of arbor off (it will stick out beyond card when closed if you don't).  Using red marker color the little flowers and slightly cup them using small ball tool and molding mat.  attach to border pieces.  Cut to fit on each side of the gate attaching with clear drying glue.  Make a little wreath using brown circle and cutting pieces from leafy branches that had been shaped with small ball tool and molding mat.  Attach to gate using clear drying glue.  Using remaining 2 pieces of fence and one of the pieces cut off the front fence attach to back of floating floor. Attach tulip border in front of fence using a clear drying glue.

Outside of card

4.  Cut (2) 6" X 6" patterned paper attach to front and back using double sided clear  adhesive.  Using the largest Stitched Circles die cut 1 piece of cardstock ( a color to match patterned paper) and using 100# soft finish white cardstock cut the next size down stitched circle.  On the white circle using the light blue (from set 2) PanPastels and the cloud die fcorm clouds all over the circle.  Attach white circle to larger colored circle using double sided clear adhesive.  Attach the color Hello over the black off setting just a little to give a shadow effect.  Attach to center of cloud circle and then attach circle to center of front of card.

  5. Wonderful card. I had a clothesline just like this in the 60's. Not nearly as pretty as yours. Love the fences, flowers and especially the cat.
