Cosmos Courage
Hello My Crafty Friends!
My card today is the only Breast Cancer card I did this year. Moving has put a damper on my card making this year but hope I will get back to it very soon.
The card is called a Double Easel Card which Susan Tierney Cockburn did on her Facebook page Susan's Garden Club 2. The video can be found here aired on October 15, 2025.
From color cardstock of your choice cut the following:
1 pc 6" X 12" scored on long side at 3" and 6" both mountain folds.
1 pc 6" X 4-1/2" scored at 4" and 2" on the 4-1/2" side with mountain then valley folds
on the 1/2" section (mountain fold) add adhesive then attach this to the bottom inside of the 6" section.
1 pc 2-1/2" X 5-1/2"
1 pc 6" X 6"
From Pattern Paper cut the following:
2 pcs 1-3/4" X 5-3/4" attach these 2pcs to the (2) 2" X 6" sections of card
1 pc 2-3/4" X 5-3/4"
2 pc 5-3/4" square adhere 1 pc to the 6" square cardstock pc which will be front of card.
Take this pc adhere (the bottom 3" half only) to the front of the card.
From White Cardstock cut the following:
1pc 1-1/2" x 5-1/2"
1 pc 5-1/2" square
emboss these 2 pcs with embossing folder of your choice. I used Lisa Horton Botanical Fern 3D embossing folder. Adhere the 1-1/2" X 5-1/2" pc to the bottom 2" section of the mountain fold of bottom of card (see picture above where the word Courage is on card)
Adhere the 5-1/2" pc to 6" square card front pc.
Adhere the 2-3/4" X 5-3/4" pc of pattern paper to the back 3" section of card where it will be seen. (not necessary but I decided to do it.
For the inside I cut 2 scallop circles the color cardstock 1 size larger than the white circle. On the white one I used black ink and stamp set Essentials by Ellen Courage Stamp & Die set EEFUND17 which was a fund raiser set for Cancer a few years ago. I some how lost my first set and found a second set on Ebay so I think that is only way you will find it now as I believe it was back in 2017 I originally found it.
The Courage die cut is a Suzanne Cannon die that she did with Elizabeth Craft Design. Die set #1435 I cut 3 from black cardstock that has double sided adhesive on back. Stacked the 3 on top of each other giving it dimension.
The paper I used is by Asuka Studios Floral Whispers MP-61387 Meadows 1
Using Spellbinders Susan's Garden Cosmos S4-1436 from her Summer Solstice Collection and Lemon Verbena S4-1278 from Victorian Foliage Victorian Garden Collection I created bouquet for front of card. You can find tutorial for Cosmos here and tutorial for Lemon Verbena here
I cut 5 Cosmos flowers and several Lemon Verbena from Spellbinders Susan's Garden Specialty Paper and the leaves were cut from watercolor paper and all were then colored using Olo Alcohol Markers. Once colored they were shaped with Spellbinders Susan's Garden Deluxe Tool Kit. Flowers were built using Kids Choice Glue and arranged on card front.
Thank you for stopping by today I sure hope I have inspired you to create your own card.
Until next time - Happy Creating!
Christine
