Forget Me Nots & Pussy Willows

Hello my crafty friends!

Spring is on it's way so I have created a card with Forget Me Not and Pussy Willows.  I know Pussy Willows actually come and go before we even see the Forget Me Not but thought they made a nice bouquet.  Spellbinders Susan's Garden Forget Me Not S2-340 from Garden Gate Collection was used and the Pussy Willows I actually designed myself.  You can find a little tutorial for them in a previous post.  The bottle was created from picture I took of a bottle I have and the background paper is one of my pictures printed on cardstock (this was a picture of wallpaper in a back bedroom at the Olson House where the picture "Christina's World" was painted by Andrew Wyeth in 1948.  He painted in a front bedroom of the Olson House)

My card is a 5 X 7 card I created from 100# white cardstock.  My design paper was cut 4-3/4" X 6-3/4" and adhered to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Woodgrain piece was cut 2" X 4-3'4" and adhere at bottom of card front.

I took a picture of a unique bottle I had and printed it onto cardstock then photocopied it onto cardstock in black & white.  I cut the colored one out exactly and the black & white one I added 1/4" all the way around and cut on that line.  Next I traced it onto some clear plastic I had saved from packaging also tracing around the outline of the bottle then cut on the outer line.  I then laid the plastic face down on a molding mat and used a small ball stylus embossing around the bottle shape.  I actually cut off the 1/4" allowance on the top of the bottle.  I bent up the 1/4" allowance and on bottom corners I did have to split and fold in using red line tape to hold them.  I placed the colored picture I had cut out inside the plastic but didn't adhere it it just sits in there.  I use Kids Choice Glue just on very edges of the lip and adhered it to card front.  I sat something with just a little weight on top to let glue set up.  I had an old stem die cut in my stash that I adhered inside top of bottle so it extended down a little.  I took a small piece of twine I wrapped around neck of bottle and tied.

Using Spellbinders Susan's Garden Specialty Paper to cut my Forget Me Not cutting the stems twice to give it depth.  All were colored using alcohol markers I used Olo B0.3, B4.3, R0.1 and Y1.2 for the flowers and YG8.5 & 8.7 for leaves and stems.  They were then shaped using Spellbinders Susan's Garden Deluxe Tool Kit.  Susan has a YouTube video for creating these which can be found here

Flowers and Pussy Willows were added to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and die cut then attached to card front using dimensional tape.

So hope that this has been inspirational to you and you will make your own spring card.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time - Happy Creating!
