Carnations on Double Pop Out Gatefold



Hello my crafty friends!

Today I have a card that Sam Calcott calls a Double Pop Out Gatefold Card.  Sam does some really awesome cards on YoutTube.  The link for this style card can be found here  I have changed it a little because I have used Spellbinders Susan's Garden flowers on front of card. I have chosen Susan's Carnation S4-1325 from her latest release Through the Arbor, Lemon Verbena S4-1278 from Victorian Garden Foliage from The Victorian Garden release and Berry Branch from Foliage and Ladybug S4-1079 from the Autumn Flora release .  The 3D embossing folder that I used on the front is called Weeping Willow by Creative Expressions EF3D-071.

I followed Sam Calcott's video to create card until I got to the front then I added an oval frame centered on card front.  Frame was attached using Bearly Art Glue and then a craft knife was used to cut in middle being careful not to cut the card base itself.  I Used Spellbinders Fluted Classics Ovals die set S5-474 for the oval frame and the pop out oval.  I have left off the sentiment for now will add when it is given out.

Using Spellbinders Susan's Garden Carnation S4-1325 from the new Through the Arbor release and Susan's Specialty Paper SCS 122 I cut 3 Carnations.  I left 1 white and colored 2 with alcohol markers.  They were then shaped using Spellbinders Susan's Garden Deluxe Tool Kit #021.  You can find Susan's tutorial video here

Next I cut 4 Lemon Verbena S4-1278 from Victorian Foliage set from the Victorian Garden release.  Susan's tutorial video can be found here

The Berry Branch from Foliage & Ladybug die set S4-1079 from Autumn Flora release was cut twice from watercolor paper colored with alcohol markers then shaped.  Berries are little Styrofoam balls colored with alcohol ink refill.  Selma Stevenson has a tutorial on her blog for making the berries.

With card closed flat and using Kids Choice Glue I added the Lemon Verbena first then the Carnations lasting filling in with leaves and Berry Branches.

The Pop Out Oval will have a sentiment on it.  For the photo I just temporarily attached it to card but sentiment needs to be added to oval before attaching.

Good Morning Everyone!  Sorry it has been so long since I have posted but I have been busy getting ready to go to Creative Keepsake Convention and then going to convention. I had a great time taking classes, shopping, eating and enjoying great friends. My post today is using one of Susan's Garden new dies and one of Karen Burniston's pop up dies.  It was hard to get a good clear picture because of the shine from the glitter. Card base is an A2 size card (4-1/4 X 5-1/2) 1.  Panel is made by using Karen Burniston's accordion rectangle die.  Attach a piece of sticker paper  4-1/2 X 5-3/4 to a pc of white cardstock the same size using clear double sided adhesive. Cut 1 frame from this.  Cut the rectangle and tabs from center of frame and the long tab on the left edge of the frame. Run this frame through Sizzix machine using Hearts Entwined embossing folder (or other embossing folder of your choice)  Peel the paper from the front of the frame ( protective paper covering adhesive

Family Birthday Cards

Welcome my crafty friends! Today I have a couple birthday cards I did for our grandson and my hubby.  Our grandson and hubby share their birthday - grandson was best birthday gift ever. Our grandson turned 18 and he loves to fish he has a boat and fishes when he is not working.  Hubby turned 79 and loves his John Deere tractor.   Cards are both 6" X 6" and I used a combination of dies and Cricut to make my cards. The pop up mechanism was same for both it was an old die set of Karen Burniston when she was with Elizabeth Craft Designs - Bathtub Pop Up.  Another time I would reshape the bathtub into a boat but I had already hand cut the boat then went looking for a die set that had a pop up mechanism to use kind of like putting the cart before the horse. Survivor Pink Sunflower and Berries

  Hello my crafty friends! Another Breast Cancer Survivor card that I created in October.  Once again I used Spellbinders Susan's Garden Sunflower, Acacia and Berry Branch and for this card Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame die set. My card base is 5" X 7" made from 100# white cardstock.  Embossed layer is 4-3/4" X 6-3/4" white cardstock.  I used a swiss dot embossing folder (it is an old 8-1/2" X 11" embossing folder - I have used it so much it is taped together now).  This piece was attached to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive .  Using the Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame 2  largest dies I cut 1 from pink cardstock adhered to card front using Bearly Art Glue.   I printed sentiment on white cardstock then die cut using the next 2 dies from Lisette die set then attached to card front using dimensional tape.
