Twisted Easel Ice Skates

Hello my crafty friends!

Today I have a Twisted Easel Christmas Card for you which I have adorned with Spellbinders Susan's Garden Ice Skates from the newest release Winter Garden.  My skates were created to resemble my last pair of ice skates that I had.  My parents had bought them for me for Christmas when I was a teenager.  I had asked for white patent leather but I did not want fur around the collar but low and behold that is what my parents could find that year because way back then there was no internet to search.

YouTube video for card base can be found here by Sam CalcottSpellbinders Picot Petite Ovals S5-433 was used to cut large oval from red cardstock.  Adhered to left side of diagonal fold front of card using Bearly Art Glue.  5-3/4" square striped paper  (Paper Studio Diagonal Stripe) was adhered to inside of card.

The Ice Skate Die from Winter Garden Release.  I cut 4 from 110# white cardstock glued 2 together for 1 skate - I made 2.  Using Ultra Thick Embossing Power I embossed both skates to get that patent leather look. I added small pieces of fur to skate tops adhering with Kids Choice Glue.   Susan has a YouTube video for creating the skate which can be found here.

From green cardstock Winterberry Die S4-1113 from Holiday Release and Juniper from Winter Evergreens S5-515 Die set from new release Winter Garden.  Greens were shaded then shaped using Susan's Garden Ultimate Tool KitWinterberry Leaves were glazed to give them shine.  Red berries were created using red acrylic paint in a zip lock bag with small Styrofoam balls added and smooshed around until colored then spread out on cookie sheet to dry.  Bearly Art Glue was used to attach berries to branch.  I used a fine point black pen to add black dot to each berry.  Greenery and berries were added to tops of skates attaching using Kids Choice Glue.

Snow was added using Art Glitter Glue Dries White then Papericious Frosting Powder was sprinkled over glue and excess shaken off.

Spellbinders Classic Ovals S4-110 was used for the easel stop.  Sentiment from Winter Garden Stamp Set was stamped with black ink on white cardstock then die cut.  The next size up oval die was used to cut oval from red cardstock.  Sentiment attached to red oval then a pop dot was used to attach oval to inside of card for the stop.

Thanks for stopping by and I do hope I have inspired you to create your own Twisted Easel Card.

Until next time - happy crafting!

Christine
