Birthday Poppies

Hello My Crafty Friends,

I know it has been a while since I have posted but I have been busy creating cards for Susan Tierney-Cockburn's new release with Spellbinders. Spellbinders Garden Club - Autumn Flora. Her fall release has 7 new die sets plus a new "Autumn Quotes" stamp set. The release will be in the hands of retailers on the 10th.

Today Susan's Design Team are beginning to post our creations using the new release. Stay tuned to see our creations. The other designers are Selma Stevenson and you can see her tutorials on her blog selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.com and Karen Liddle's tutorials on her blog cakescardsandcraftybits.blogspot.com

My card today is a birthday card that I created using the Oriental Poppy.

Here are the details

Step 1 Card base is 7- 1/2 X 5 tent fold created from black cardstock.

Step 2 Patterned paper was cut 7-1/4 X 5 attached to card front using clear double sided adhesive.

Step 3 Using Spellbinders Die of the Month - March 2019 Amazing Grace Paper Designer Die cut 1 from black cardstock. (I taped all pieces together to cut) I used liquid glue with fine tip to apply glue to back and attach to card front.

Step 4 Happy Birthday was cut from coordinating color cardstock with clear double sided adhesive on back using Spellbinders S2-082 Sentiment 1 die set. Attach to center of card front.

Step 5 From white cardstock using Autumn Flora - Oriental Poppy die set cut 3 poppies (the new dies have a number on dies pieces to tell you haw many of each to cut for a flower which is fantastic). Using alcohol markers in colors of your choice color petals (I used Copic YR02 and YR82) 2 little sun shapes were cut from black cardstock and little circles cut from green. Poppies were shaped and assembled. You will be able to watch Susan's videos on YouTube soon for all her flowers in this release.

Step 6 From green cardstock cut 2 foliages pieces from Autumn Flora Foliage & Lady Bug die set. While cutting the green cardstock you can cut the leaves for the poppies from same cardstock. Shade and shape. I cut a few of the tiny flowers in the foliage set from white cardstock and used a green fine tip marker to make dot in center then shape. Added flowers to foliage using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 7 Using Kids Choice Glue attach foliage to card front then add poppies and their leaves.

Hope you have enjoyed my post and stay tuned for more to come. Be sure to visit the other designers blogs to see their wonderful creations I can tell you they will wow you.

Thanks for stopping by and until next time - Happy Crafting!

You only live once if you live right once is enough!
