Purple Callas

Purple Calla Lilies

Hello My Crafty Friends,

The weather here in Maine has started to cooperate a little so much of my spare time has been spent outside digging and planting until I can't stand the black flies driving me back inside.

Today I have a card that I created which was inspired by a bouquet I saw at the florist shop.  The lady ahead of me was picking up flowers for a wedding and when I saw the gorgeous Calla Lilies I knew I had to try and recreate them in paper.

Here is how the card was created.

Step 1  Using white Soft Finish Cardstock form 6" X 6" card base.

Step 2  From same cardstock cut piece 5-3/4" square.  Using embossing folder of your choice (I am sorry I do not know the name of mine I have had it for sometime) emboss cardstock.  Using Clear Double Sided Adhesive adhere square to card front.

Step 3  From green cardstock cut several ferns using Garden Notes Ladder Fern.  Add using using distress ink.  To add dimension use tweezers from Garden Notes 4 pc Tool Set to pinch up on fronds.  Adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 4  Create a couple sprigs of Garden Notes Baby's Breath die cutting branches from green cardstock and flowers from 90# white Soft Finish Cardstock.  Add color to center using extra fine point green marker.  Shape flowers using hard eraser and toothpick.  Build flowers using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 5  Create 3 Calla Lilies in color of your choice. I cut from 90# white Soft Finish Cardstock using Garden Notes Calla Lily die set then added my color.  For the purple I used the Violet PanPastels set 1.  I added very carefully after flower was all formed as it made a mess when I tried adding before shaping (Lesson Learned).  Stamen was colored with purple alcohol marker then added purple pollen with dab of yellow pollen just on very tip.  See Susan's video here.  Adhere lilies to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 6   Create 7 or 8 Garden Notes Cosmos from white 90# Soft Finish Cardstock color with purple alcohol marker.  Shape using Garden Notes tool kit, molding mat and leaf mat.  I shaped mine a little different for my purple flowers by using loop tool on wrong side then turning and using medium ball tool to push down in center on right side.  I made a couple into buds on this card.  See Susan's video here.  Arrange on card front adhering with Kids Choice Glue.

Step 7  Cut apart sprigs of Baby's Breath and tuck into arrangement then add leaves to complete arrangement.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to make your own floral arrangement.  By clicking on any of the pictures below it will take you to Elizabeth Craft Designs site.

Until next time - Happy Scrapping!

Christine
