Brave Sunflower

Hello my crafty friends!

Today I have a simple card which is a tribute to the people of Ukraine.  I have used Sunflower die from Susan's new release Garden Favorites from Spellbinders.

Photo below was my inspiration for my card.

Card base is 6" X 6" 100# cardstock.

White cardstock was cut 5-3/4" square then using black Momento ink and a brush to apply ink rubbed all over the square.  It doesn't have to be even as you want shadow areas.  Cardstock was then adhered to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

For little dish white cardstock was cut 2" X 2-1/2" (cut 2 and glue together) then embossed.  Pop dots were placed center back and Kids Choice Glue around very edge on sides and bottom leaving top open attach to lower right of black square.  A little gray ink was brushed on to give shadow.

From Susan's newest release Garden Favorites from Spellbinders the Sunflower dies was cut from Susan's Specialty Paper and the leaves were cut from green cardstock. I also used stem from Peach Blossom to cut 2 stems then glued together.  Flower was colored using Copic Markers, leaves shaded with green ink and Shaped using Susan's Deluxe Tool Kit.  Susan has YouTube video for creating these which can be found here.

Kids Choice Glue was used to attach stem to card front as well as build flower and attach leaves.

"Brave" from Suzanne Cannon's A Way with Words set was cut twice once from black cardstock and once from white cardstock both with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back.  Attach white on top of black.  Using same Copic Markers as sunflower colored it ombre style.  Attach to card front.

Thank you so much for stopping by and do hope that I have given you some inspiration to create your own card.

Until next time - Happy Crafting!

Christine
