Spring Bouquet

Here in Maine things are starting to bloom my lilac trees are getting ready to burst with color and fragrance like none other.   The lilacs do not show the true color in this picture I tried taking several different pictures in different light but could not get the true color to show.

Today I am posting a card which has a bouquet of spring flowers hence the name of the card.  Susan's Garden Notes dies were used for the flowers along with her Pottery Pitcher die.  The finish on the pitcher is a result of a botched cracked glass technique but I decided when all was said and done it looked like a very old pitcher and that I liked the look so I used it.

Here is how this  6 X6  tent fold card was done.

  1.  Cut White Soft Finish Cardstock 6" X 12" score at 6" fold on score line.  Cut patterned paper (Through the Lens - Wood used here) at 5-3/4" square then attach to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

  2. From White Soft Finish Cardstock cut 2 ModaScrap Lace Corners.  Attach to bottom corners using Clear Double Sided Adhesive overlapping at the center.

  3. From grayish tan cardstock cut 1 Garden Notes Pottery Pitcher -  ink edges.  Lay face down on molding mat using large ball tool from Susan's Garden Tool Set rub back of pitcher giving it a little shape.  As I said the finish was a botched Cracked Glass Technique.  You can google that technique.  I believe I got mine too thick some fell off the remainder was reheated and bubbled giving this texture.  Ink over all of it (Distress Vintage Photo used here).

  4. Make 2 Garden Notes Lilac branches.  These were made using White Soft Finish Cardstock  colored with lavender and dark purple Susan's Garden PanPastels Set 1 & 2 before cutting flowers.

  5. Make 1 Garden Notes Daffodil

  6. Make 2 Garden Notes Tulip 2 in colors of your choice ( 1 white and 1 peach used here).

  7. Pussy willows were made by using Els van de Burgt Studio Leaf & Berry Branch and brown cardstock cutting 5-6 branches.  Snip off the leaves so you basically have sticks then using Kids Choice Glue add dots of glue  to top half of each stick  sprinkle white Flower Soft over glue then gently press Flower Soft into glue then repeat.

  8. Arrange flowers to your liking  then attach to back of pitcher using Kids Choice Glue (I put the stems down through the opening at top of pitcher).

  9. Attach pitcher to card front using Kids Choice Glue that is just on the very edge of the pitcher.

Good Morning Everyone!  Sorry it has been so long since I have posted but I have been busy getting ready to go to Creative Keepsake Convention and then going to convention. I had a great time taking classes, shopping, eating and enjoying great friends. My post today is using one of Susan's Garden new dies and one of Karen Burniston's pop up dies.  It was hard to get a good clear picture because of the shine from the glitter. Card base is an A2 size card (4-1/4 X 5-1/2) 1.  Panel is made by using Karen Burniston's accordion rectangle die.  Attach a piece of sticker paper  4-1/2 X 5-3/4 to a pc of white cardstock the same size using clear double sided adhesive. Cut 1 frame from this.  Cut the rectangle and tabs from center of frame and the long tab on the left edge of the frame. Run this frame through Sizzix machine using Hearts Entwined embossing folder (or other embossing folder of your choice)  Peel the paper from the front of the frame ( protective paper covering adhesive

Family Birthday Cards

Welcome my crafty friends! Today I have a couple birthday cards I did for our grandson and my hubby.  Our grandson and hubby share their birthday - grandson was best birthday gift ever. Our grandson turned 18 and he loves to fish he has a boat and fishes when he is not working.  Hubby turned 79 and loves his John Deere tractor.   Cards are both 6" X 6" and I used a combination of dies and Cricut to make my cards. The pop up mechanism was same for both it was an old die set of Karen Burniston when she was with Elizabeth Craft Designs - Bathtub Pop Up.  Another time I would reshape the bathtub into a boat but I had already hand cut the boat then went looking for a die set that had a pop up mechanism to use kind of like putting the cart before the horse. Survivor Pink Sunflower and Berries

  Hello my crafty friends! Another Breast Cancer Survivor card that I created in October.  Once again I used Spellbinders Susan's Garden Sunflower, Acacia and Berry Branch and for this card Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame die set. My card base is 5" X 7" made from 100# white cardstock.  Embossed layer is 4-3/4" X 6-3/4" white cardstock.  I used a swiss dot embossing folder (it is an old 8-1/2" X 11" embossing folder - I have used it so much it is taped together now).  This piece was attached to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive .  Using the Lisette Oval Shadowbox Frame 2  largest dies I cut 1 from pink cardstock adhered to card front using Bearly Art Glue.   I printed sentiment on white cardstock then die cut using the next 2 dies from Lisette die set then attached to card front using dimensional tape.
